This is the minimum legal requirement for van insurance in the UK. It covers:

    • However, it does not cover any damage to your own van or injuries to yourself
  • 2

This type of insurance includes everything covered by TPO, plus:

    • Damage to your van caused by fire
    • Theft of your van or damage caused by attempted theft
  • 3

    Comprehensive

Comprehensive insurance offers the highest level of cover, including:

    • All the benefits of TPFT
    • Accidental damage to your own van
    • Medical expenses for injuries to you and your passengers
    • It can be extended to cover personal belongings or equipment inside the van
  • 4

This cover is suitable for businesses that use their vans to transport their own goods, stock, tools, equipment, and so on.

  • 5

Carriage of Goods for Hire or Reward

This type of insurance is for businesses that transport goods for payment, such as hauliers, couriers or delivery drivers.

  • 6

    Additional Cover Options

Businesses can also consider adding extra cover to their policies, such as:

    • Breakdown Cover: Assistance if your van breaks down
    • Legal Expenses Cover: Covers legal costs if you need to make or defend a claim
    • Courtesy Van: Provides a temporary replacement van if yours is being repaired
